The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has re-employed star actress, Nkiru Sylvanus.
The Governor revealed his plans to set up a Film Academy in Owerri and has mentioned Nollywood star, Nkiriu Syvanusx to be part of the management team.
Nkiru Sylvanus is being appointed as the Ag. Director General of the Academy and her major role is to see to the smooth running of the academy, judicious use of funds and other logistics.
Okorocha revealed this during a courtesy call at the government house by AGN members of the Imo Chapter.
He also stated that there would be the provision of office accommodation for Imo AGN at the ICAPS premises, Owerri.
This would be Nkiru’s second appointment as she was previously appointed by the same governor as his SSA to public affairs in 2011.
Lately there have been throngs of Nollywood stars delving into the murky waters of politics. They are either vying for political post or getting appointments. Do you think it’s a new rave just to for the mere sake of adding the prefix, Her his Excellency or Honorable to their names?
