Supermodel Naomi Campbell was in tears as she viewed the coffin of the late Nelson Mandela as the great anti- apartheid icon and former president of South Africa lied in state at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Hundreds of people broke into song and danced as the funeral cortege of Nelson Mandela passed through the streets of Pretoria.
Mandela’s grandson Mandla visited the open casket of his grandfather, followed by his second wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and third wife Graca Machel, as well as South Africa’s current president Jacob Zuma.
U2 singer Bono was another entertainer at the site. World leaders such as Sri Lanka‘s Mahinda Rajapaksa and Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, also paid tribute to the global icon.
Mandela died on Thursday December 5 2013 , aged 95 and will be buried on Sunday December 15, 2013 in Qunu, his ancestral home in the Eastern Cape province.
